Študenti KAA FF UPJŠ na záverečnej konferencii projektu EU4 My Region v Budapešti

Po úspešnom seminári projektu EU4 My Region, ktorý sa uskutočnil na našej katedre, som spolu s dvoma študentmi – Luciou Gondovou a Martinom Hudákom, v doprovode Mgr. Júliusa Rozenfelda, PhD. mala možnosť zúčastniť sa na záverečnej konferencii tohto projektu v Budapešti v dňoch 12. a 13. decembra 2019. Vďaka našim hostiteľom z European House Budapest sme mohli stráviť dva dni aktivitami na konferencii v hoteli Mercure Buda, ktorý sa nachádza v centre mesta. Popri záverečnej konferencii organizátori pripravili pre nás zaujímavý program. Navštívili sme budovu maďarského parlamentu, ochutnali sme tradičné maďarské zákusky a zúčastnili sme sa na prezentácii o Danube Region Strategy. Počas tých dvoch dní sme sa zoznámili so študentmi, ktorí prišli z krajín, ktoré sa tiež zapojili do projektu EU4 My Region – bolo to Chorvátsko, Maďarsko, Česko a Rumunsko. Na záverečnej konferencii sme mali možnosť vyjadriť naše názory a nápady v súvislosti s výsledkami projektu a ostatnými otázkami súvisiacii s Európskou úniou. Program nám poskytol aj voľný čas, ktorý sme využili na prechádzky v meste, na návštevu krásneho vianočného trhu a na ochutnávanie tradičných maďarských jedál. Sme veľmi vďační, že sme sa mohli zúčastniť na tomto podujatí. Naučili sme sa veľa o tom, ako ľudia z iných EU štátov vnímajú rôzne problémy a otázky, získali sme nové kontakty, mali sme možnosť objaviť krásne mesto a rozšíriť si naše obzory.

Students of the Department of BAS FF UPJŠ participated in the final conference of the EU4 My Region project in Budapest

Following the EU4 My Region seminar at our department, three students – Kristína Šestáková, Lucia Gondová and Martin Hudák were invited together with Dr Július Rozenfeld to attend the closing event of the European Union project, EU4MYREGION, between 12–13 December 2019. Thanks to the hosts from the European House in Budapest – a civil organization – we could spend these two days at the events of the conference in the amazing Mercure Hotel Buda, situated in the downtown of Budapest. Besides the closing event, our hosts organized an interesting programme for us: we participated in a guided tour in the Hungarian Parliament, ate traditional Hungarian cakes and visited a presentation about the Danube Region Strategy. Furthermore, this event provided us with the opportunity to meet students – young people from other participating EU countries, namely Croatia, Hungary, The Czech Republic, and Romania. We also had the chance to express our thoughts and views on the results of the project and on different EU related questions during the closing conference. The schedule also allowed some free time for us that we spent with sightseeing, walking around the wonderful Christmas Market in downtown Budapest, and tasting some delicious Hungarian foods and drinks. We are very thankful that we had the chance to participate in this event. We learned a lot about the ways how the EU issues are viewed among the citizens of the different member states, made new contacts, had the chance to explore a beautiful city, and broadened our perspectives.

EU4MYREGION projekt

Prednáška o Európskej Únii a konaní voči rôznym regiónom zameraná na mestá, ktoré neboli hlavnými v 5 rôznych štátoch, sa zmenila na skvelú príležitosť a hlavne skvelý výlet v Budapešti. Spolu s doktorom Rozenfeldom, Luciou a Kristínou sme sa vydali na cestu do Maďarska, kde sme sa v hoteli Mercure Buda stretli s predstaviteľmi European House Budapest na záverečnej konferencii a začali sme s hodnotením výsledkov projektu. Výskum sa zameriaval na postoj mladých voči Európskej Únii a ich vedomosti o Cohesion Money a iné problémy v tejto tematike. Možnosť diskutovať o problematike sme dostali aj s ostatnými účastníkmi projektu, ktorý prišli z Českej Republiky, Rumunska, Chorvátska a Maďarska. Organizátori pre nás pripravili bohatý program, ktorý obsahoval návštevu a prehliadku Maďarského Parlamentu, prednášku o Danube Region Strategy a samozrejme nám poskytli aj voľný čas na spoznávanie tradičnej kuchyne, kultúry a mesta. Okrem krásneho zážitku nám tento projekt priniesol množstvo nových kontaktov a pohľadov na problémy, ale aj skúsenosti komunikovať na vysokej úrovni, a tak isto aj možnosť prezentovať seba, či našu univerzitu. Veľmi pekne by som rád poďakoval katedre za umožnenie tejto skúsenosti a hlavne doktorovi Rozenfeldovi a organizátorom projektu za výber a dôveru.

EU4MYREGION Project

The seminar about the European Union EU4MYREGION and its attitude toward different regions was focused on cities, which are not capitals, and soon after this project changed to be an amazing opportunity and also a wonderful trip to Budapest. Alongside Dr. Rozenfeld, Lucia, and Kristína, we went on a journey to Hungary where we met with the representatives of European House Budapest on the closing conference and evaluation of the project results in the Mercure Buda hotel. The research was focused on the attitude of the youth towards the European Union, their knowledge about Cohesion Money, and other problems within this topic. We had the opportunity to react and discuss the issues with other participants from the Czech Republic, Romania, Croatia, and Hungary. The organizers prepared a rich program containing the visitation and tour of the Hungarian Parliament, Danube Region Strategy lecture and, naturally, free time to explore traditional cuisine, culture, and the city. Besides the beautiful experience, this project provided us with many new contacts, views on the problems, but also new experiences in communication skills, and we could represent both ourselves and our university. I would like to thank our department for giving us this opportunity, but most importantly I would like to thank Dr. Rozenfeld and the organizers for the selection and trust.

EU 4 MY REGION Seminar at BAS FF UPJŠ in Košice

On 5 December 2019 the Department of British and American Studies FF UPJŠ in Košice in cooperation with the European House, a civil organization in Budapest, organized a seminar for its students of English Language for the European Institutions and Economy under the title EU 4 My Region. This seminar was the last event in a series of activities involving three other partner universities from Timisoara, Osijek, and Olomouc and was aimed at improving knowledge about European citizenship and civil engagement of youngsters interested in the EU studies. During the seminar, a series of current topics was elaborated and discussed under the supervision of the representative of the European House concerning employment, regional development, environmental protection and better utilization of EU Cohesion Funds. Our students were active participants in discussions, and we hope that this event is the first step in a long and prosperous cooperation with the European House and its partner universities.

Seminár EU 4 MY REGION na KAA FF UPJŠ in Košice

Katedra anglistiky a amerikanistiky FF UPJŠ v spolupráci s European House, občianskym združením sídliacim v Budapešti, spoluorganizovala 6.12.2019 seminár pre študentov v študijnom programe anglický jazyk pre európske inštitúcie a ekonomiku pod názvom EU 4 My Region. Seminár bol posledným zo série podujatí v rámci ktorých partnerské univerzity z Temešváru, Osieku a Olomouca diskutovali o možnostiach spolupráce pre budúcnosť EÚ. Cieľom tejto aktivity bolo zvýšenie občianskej angažovanosti v témach regionálneho rozvoja, zvyšovania zamestnanosti, environmentálnej ochrane a lepšieho využitia eurofondov v týchto oblastiach. Naši partneri zo zahraničia mali možnosť presvedčiť sa o kvalite našich študentov, ktorí sa aktívne zapájali do diskusií a prišli s veľmi dobrými nápadmi pre riešenie aktuálnych problémov. Veríme, že toto úspešné podujatie bolo prvým krokom na ceste dlhej a prospešnej spolupráce s European House!
